UPDATE REGARDING ROUTES - A footbridge on the route has been closed for safety reasons beyond our control. But don't worry, we have an alternative path ready for you. This new route will add approximately 4k for those on the 10k and half-marathon distances.
- Unfortunately, there isn't a shorter alternative for the 10K route, but participants can complete a 10k distance using multiple laps of the 2.5K around Bray Lake instead. Our team will be on hand throughout the day to help and support you with this option if required.
- Half Marathon walkers who would prefer not to take on the additional distance can take a shortcut in Windsor. Cut off the Long Walk by crossing the road at Marshal Point 23 and continuing back down the High Street. Marshals will direct you on the day.

Parking
We are delighted to have lots of lovely walkers taking part but this does mean we need to be extra vigilant with parking measures. Please follow the guidance below to ensure this aspect of the day runs smoothly.
1. Please car share where possible to reduce pressure on the car parks.
2. Allow plenty of time for parking to ensure you are on time for your registration slot.
3. We ask drivers to drop passengers off at Thames Hospice first then head to the Park and Ride car park at Centrica
4. If you are disabled or have limited mobility, please let the parking marshals know and you can park at the Hospice.
Park and Ride:
Centrica, SL4 5GD. Park for free at Centrica and a mini bus will shuttle you to the Hospice and back to your car after your walk. Centrica Car Park will open at 8am.
Please note EV charging bays will not be available and please take all your litter home with you.
Once you are at the Hospice on foot please head to the Thames Hospice flag by the side gate and you will be directed to registration.
You will be given a ‘walker number’ at registration. Please fill out your medical details on the reverse and your next of kin contact number. For accompanying children, please fill out any medical details and the contact number of the adult they are walking with.
If you feel there is anything our medical team should be aware of, please let the volunteers on registration know and they will direct you to have a chat with the first aiders.
The Route
Look out for Thames Hospice signage to guide you along the route and listen to marshals who will be pointing you in the right direction. Unless you are told change direction by an arrow or a marshal then just follow the path you are on.
Please be aware that your route passes alongside rivers and a lake. Take extra care when walking near the water and ensure you follow the Countryside Code at all times during your walk.
Weather
Please check the weather and dress appropriately. If it has been raining the route may be muddy - please wear appropriate footwear! There will be water refilling stations, but we will not be offering plastic bottles of water.
T-shirts
Sunflower Walk t-shirts will be available to collect on the day of the walk.
Please note tickets for children under 14 do not include a t-shirt but they will receive a medal on the day.
Entertainment
There will be face painting, Sunflower Walk merchandise for sale, a retail pop up, medal engraving and music on the day. Please join us for a BBQ and treats in the café after your walk.
Come and join for our much loved Sunflower Walk. Bring your friends, family and everyone you know and walk either a breezy 2.5k, a more challenging 10k or our half marathon hike.
Medal Engraving
We’re delighted to offer medal engraving for a donation of just £5. If you’d like your medal engraved:
You can choose to have your name engraved, or honour the person you’re walking for by engraving it in memory of a loved one.
Dogs
You can bring your furry friend along to the walk but please keep them on a lead and dispose of any dog waste on route.

Online sign ups have now closed but you can sign up on the day at registration.
Something BIG is stomping across the Sunflower Walk
This year our Sunflower Walk will have a little extra along the way. As you follow the route, you’ll come across a selection of our hand painted elephant sculptures from our Trunks Across the Thames art trail.
Along your walk, these beautiful elephants will pop up when you least expect them ready to catch your eye, brighten the route, and give you an extra special Sunflower Walk to remember.
Watch last years highlights and feel inspired to take part!!
