Work experience

We are pleased to offer a variety of placements and work experience at Thames Hospice to provide experience in palliative and end-of-life care.

For prospective students

We offer an annual work experience week for year 12 students who are hoping to study a degree in medicine, nursing or other allied health professions, such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy and paramedic science. The week includes clinical training, both in patient-facing and classroom settings, interacting with different professions and hands-on experience in a healthcare environment.

Our Work Experience Week has now finished for 2023, the week will take place again from the 29 July - 2 August 2024. Applications to take part in the 2024 week will open in early Spring 2024 so please revisit our website then.

For healthcare professionals & undergraduates

We are able to offer experience days for undergraduate students and registered healthcare professionals. If you are a healthcare professional or student who would like to spend a day shadowing our clinical teams and experiencing Thames Hospice, please email education@thameshospice.org.uk
