Nilesh joined the Board of Trustees at Thames Hospice in 2020 and sits on the Finance and Investment and Income Generation and Marketing Committees.
Nilesh is a Chartered Accountant and was a Partner and then CEO of Blick Rothenberg, a London based accounting and tax consulting practice. Having grown the business from 200 to 600 people he stepped down from the role in August 2020. Nilesh continues to act as a strategic adviser to Blick Rothenberg as well as sitting on the Advisory Board of another commercial business.
Nilesh chose to become a Trustee for Thames Hospice after experiencing first-hand the difficulty of caring for a family member at home without the support of a local hospice. During his time at Blick Rothenberg, Nilesh also supported a local children’s hospice and was moved by the work they did with very limited resources.
Nilesh said:
“I feel very fortunate in my life and am fortunate to have skills and experience which others can hopefully use. Thames Hospice ticks all the boxes for me in terms of what it does and the values it lives by.”
Nilesh is married and has four children, three grandchildren and a dog. In his spare time he enjoys time with the family as well as walking, playing golf, reading and armchair support for most sports. He is an avid traveller having visited over 50 countries around the world.
Starting her career in the civil service, Janet King joined Frimley Park Hospital in 1987 working for West Surrey and North East Hants Health Authority as Personnel Manager.
Janet became a Director of Frimley Park Hospital NHS Trust in 1991 and served under Sir Andrew Morris for 30 years as Deputy Chief Executive at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. Janet’s portfolio included human resources management, all non-clinical support services, estate and capital planning. Janet now works in consultancy at board level, with specialist skills in board governance, mergers and acquisitions, board and clinical leadership, investigations and mediations.
After experiencing first-hand the support and care Thames Hospice provides for our patients and their families, Janet believes end-of-life care is a basic human right for everyone, providing a vital service to the population. On the Board Janet aims to help strengthen the links between secondary care and the Hospice so that we can jointly provide the best care for end of life patients.

The Thames Hospice Board of Trustees meets every quarter to discuss and make decisions on Thames Hospice activity. A summary is written after each meeting, which we will upload here and you can read by clicking the links below. We hope you find the reports both interesting and informative.

We rely on the generosity of our amazing community, whose support enables us to provide the best possible end-of-life care for local people. It costs £12 million every year to keep our Hospice running - through charitable support we need to raise over 50% of the funds required annually to provide our services free of charge, 365 days a year, to the people who need us most.
We’ve never needed you, our wonderful supporters, more than we need you today. Please donate what you can to help keep hospice care available for those in desperate need.
