By car
Thames Hospice is a short distance from the M4, junction 8/9. Onsite parking is available free of charge.
By train
The closest railway station to the Hospice is Maidenhead. Taxis are available outside the station, or it's a 45 minute walk to the Hospice.
By bus
Buses 16 and 16a stop close to the Hospice along Windsor Road.
Visiting FAQS
What are the visiting hours?
Visiting hours for Inpatient Services are 09:00–21:00. Please arrive before 19:00 where possible, as reception closes at this time.
Can I visit outside normal visiting hours?
Yes, in some circumstances this can be arranged. Please speak with the Nurse in Charge or call 01753 842121 before visiting.
Where do I enter the Hospice after 19:00?
After 19:00, please use the ambulance/night entrance opposite Heron Ward.
Do I need to sign in and out?
Yes. All visitors must sign in and out using the touchscreen system for fire safety purposes.
Can children visit?
Children are welcome to visit, but we ask that they are supervised at all times and considerate of other patients and visitors.
Can pets visit the Hospice?
Well behaved pets are welcome to visit patients. Pets are not permitted inside the café, but they are welcome on the terrace area outside.
Is there parking available?
Yes, parking is available on site for visitors.
Is there WiFi available?
Yes. Please speak with one of our nursing colleagues on Inpatient Services for WiFi access details.
What facilities are available for visitors?
Visitors can access the Visitors Room, Visitors Bedroom and The Sanctuary. Please speak with the Inpatient Services Reception Manager or a member of the nursing team if you would like to use these spaces.
Who can I speak to if I need support?
Our Counselling and Pastoral Care Team are available to support patients and families. Please speak with the nursing team or reception manager for more information
Visiting and opening hours
Visiting your loved one on Inpatient Services
Visiting times are between 09:00 and 21:00. Please arrive by 19:00, as our reception closes at that time. After 7pm, please use the Ambulance/Night Entrance opposite Heron Ward to enter or exit the Hospice.
We understand that there may be occasions when family members or loved ones need to visit outside our usual visiting hours. If you need to visit outside core hours, please speak with the Nurse in Charge or call 01753 842121 to discuss arrangements.
Reception & café hours
Our main reception and Café by the Lake are open daily Monday to Friday 8am-6pm, Saturday 8am-5pm and Sunday 9am-5pm.
Join us for breakfast, lunch, or afternoon tea, enjoy free parking, soak in the beautiful lake views, and enjoy a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
