Our fundraising promise

It’s with thanks to the generosity of our wonderful supporters that we are able to continue to provide the best palliative and end-of-life care and support to all those in our community who need us. Giving to us should be a great experience and we promise:

We will be clear, honest and open

  • We will tell you about the compassionate care your amazing support is funding through regular communications which you can opt in to receive.
  • We promise to use your gift wisely. If you want your gift used in a particular way, we will do our best to honour your wish whilst also ensuring it best supports the needs of the charity.
  • You are welcome to visit the Hospice to see first-hand the difference your support makes.
  • We respect your right to privacy and you do not have to tell us about your gift if you prefer.
  • If you choose to leave a gift in your Will to Thames Hospice, you can decide whether to tell us about it or not, and you can change your Will at any time and you do not have tell us if you prefer. However, by telling us, we can provide you with updates on how your support may help us in the future. It’s your choice.
  • We will be open and transparent about our finances, so you can see how your support helps us to continue to provide expert palliative and end-of-life care to all those who need us.
  • We will provide prompt and honest answers to any questions you may have about our fundraising and costs.
  • We always welcome your feedback which you can give to us by getting in touch here or emailing
  • You can access our Fundraising Complaints Policy here. We will provide clear and evidence-based reasons for our decisions on complaints;
  • Where we ask a third party to fundraise on our behalf, we will make the relationship clear to you. We will monitor them closely to ensure they comply with our Fundraising Promise and if we find cause for concern, we will investigate immediately.

We will be respectful

  • We comply with Data Protection Law and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
  • We will never sell our supporters’ details.
  • We will make it easy for you to tell us how you want us to communicate with you and what fundraising you would like to hear about.
  • Whenever we start a conversation, either on the phone or in person, we will ask if you are happy to speak with us.
  • We will always be careful and respectful when engaging with vulnerable people (including those we are caring for and those who are bereaved).
  • If you do not want to give, or wish to stop giving to us, we will respect your decision.

Make a difference

Our services are free of charge to all those in our community who need vital hospice care but this is only made possible through the charitable support and generosity of our amazing community. We need to raise £38,363 each day to fund our services 365 days a year to the people who need us most.

We’ve never needed you, our wonderful supporters, more than we need you today. Please donate what you can to help keep hospice care available for those in desperate need.
