Harjinder Singh Garhir, president of Ramgarhia Sikh Gurdwara, along with Councillor Shabnum Sadiq from Slough Borough Council recently held a fundraiser in aid of Thames Hospice.
The fundraiser, held at Baylis House in Slough, raised an incredible £1,500, including a single donation of £500 made by an anonymous donor.
Harjinder and Shabnum both visited the Hospice to hand over the cheque to Thames Hospice. They said: "We wanted to fundraise for Thames Hospice after visiting their facilities and witnessing the care and support that they provide to local people. Service to the public is such an integral part of any society. Community services bring people together and engages them for a common cause."
Margaret Thomas, Relationship Manager at Thames Hospice, said "We are so grateful for the hard work Harjinder and Shabnum put in to hosting a wonderful fundraiser. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported us; the money raised will go towards the capital appeal for the new Hospice, which will enable to us to continue providing even more care and support to our local community."
