Actress and TV star Anita Dobson pops in to Thames Hospice

Hospice Care Week is an opportunity for us to celebrate the extraordinary work of our staff and volunteers and to continue to raise awareness of hospice care in our community.

The week was made extra special for us on Tuesday when much-loved actress and Thames Hospice Ambassador Anita Dobson popped in to the Hospice to the delight of patients and their families, our staff and volunteers.

Anita presented us with a cheque for £3,000, which was raised by her loyal fan club, The Dollydobs. Anita also brought along a bag full of fantastic pre-loved clothes to donate to our shops to keep them stocked.

Commenting on Anitas visit, Stephanie Peters, Head of Marketing and PR, said: "Our patients, families and staff were so excited to meet Anita. She gives up a huge amount of her time to support us in so many ways and we are delighted that her Fan Club chose to donate to Thames Hospice. Her visit certainly made the Hospice sparkle even more that day!"
