Make a Will Month

Many of us know we should make a Will but just haven’t quite got round to it. It is often not as difficult as people think and offers peace of mind that your assets will be distributed as you choose, and makes everything more straight-forward for your family.

Thames Hospice has teamed up with nine partner solicitors in our local area for our first Make a Will Month. These local solicitors will offer you the opportunity to have your Will written in exchange for a donation to Thames Hospice. Make a Will Month will run throughout October – book your appointment now to avoid disappointment!

To take part, simply contact one of the Solicitors, below. Let them know that you would like to take part in the Thames Hospice Make a Will Month when you book your appointment. The suggested donation for a single Will is £120, and for a joint Will is £180 and is made when you meet with your solicitor.

Please note this scheme is based on a standard single or joint Will according to the opinion of the solicitor involved, if your estate is more complex, your Will may not be covered within the scheme, please discuss with your solicitor. Services other than writing the Will may be chargeable, you may wish to discuss this with your solicitor.

Could you make an extra gift to Thames Hospice in your Will?

Gifts in Wills are hugely important to allowing the Hospice to continue caring for local people. The equivalent of 4 in 17 of the beds on our Inpatient Unit are funded by the kind people who left a gift in their Will.

A gift of any size can help ensure hospice care for future years. After you have taken care of family and those closest to you, please consider if you can support Thames Hospice in your Will. If you are writing your Will with a solicitor, they will be happy to advise you as to how a gift to charity will impact inheritance tax.
