The Wallflowers are ready to climb The Great Wall!
Elaine of The Wallflowers:
I can’t tell you how delighted Susan and I are to have reached our fundraising goal of £6,600 for our Great Wall of China Trek. After eight months of countless activities designed to bring in the cash for our cause - including car-boot sales, clothes swaps, naming a lovable panda and searching for ladies in need of size seven shoes - we made our target following our Cocktails for China evening at The Grenfell Arms, in Maidenhead. We’re now running our Grand Gifts Galore Raffle for friends, family and colleagues and will also hold a Neal’s Yard event at Thames Hospice on 14 November, to further add to the funds we have raised.
Now we really should be concentrating on training but… whilst Susan’s been a dedicated walker throughout, family commitments and poor planning on my part mean I am far from ready for the trek! I’m pretty certain I’ll be bringing up the rear as the others stride ahead. As I pause to catch my breath along the way, I’m hoping to take lots of photographs (that will be my excuse) of the incredible landscape to share with you all on our official social media channels Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. One thing’s for certain, it’s going to be a breath-taking experience.
A huge thank you to everyone who’s supported us and given so generously – you’ve all been amazing! If you’d like to give something towards our Trek, you still can by clicking the green button below. All funds raised go to Thames Hospice.
