The Home Studio
Within the Home Store is our Home Studio; a new concept where creativity thrives and furniture is upcycled to give old or uninspiring pieces a beautiful new lease of life. The Workshop Team, made up of staff and volunteers, adds little touches to furniture - papered drawers, stencilling, decoupage and pretty handles – to create unique pieces fit for contemporary homes.
Customers can also commission their own items to be transformed – including furniture painting, finishing, waxing and stencilling, plus we have sewists who can upcycle cashmere and mohair jumpers into cushions. Watch Emma, a member of the team, upcycling an old cabinet here.
Thames Hospice Home is an official stockist of Frenchic Furniture Paint®, an all-natural, eco-friendly paint that requires no stirring, shaking or water.
The range includes a wide variety of colours and finishes, an assortment of waxes, a finishing coat to seal the furniture and the Lazy Range, which comes with the wax already in it.
The Home Studio Team uses the paint to upcycle furniture sold in store, and the team said: “The paint is beautiful and so easy to use, it doesn’t require any rubbing or watering down and a little bit of the paint goes such a long way.”
The Home Studio also take commissions, so if you have an item you’d like ‘frenchiced’ just get in touch.
