- Thames Hospice to benefit from Gala dinner at the Runnymede-On-Thames Hotel
Dedicate a sunflower to remember a loved one
Our sunflower memories appeal gives the local community an opportunity to celebrate the life of a loved one at Thames Hospice.
The summer appeal encourages supporters to remember a loved one by donating towards a dedicated sunflower paddle and we invite them to attend a special remembrance service in the Hospice gardens, at Pine Lodge, in Hatch Lane.
Stuart Munday, Head of Individual Giving at Thames Hospice, says: “This year’s event has special significance to me as I recently experienced the loss of a close friend. I will be dedicating a sunflower in his name and I hope many of our supporters will also join us in this celebration of loved one’s lives”
The Sunflower Memories service, on Saturday 9 July 2016 from 2-4pm, includes readings and refreshments. After the ceremony, which guests must RSVP by 30th June to attend, supporters can take home their personalised sunflower paddles, or leave them on display in the Hospice gardens.
All funds raised via the Sunflower Memories appeal will go towards supporting local people and their families at life’s most difficult time. For example, £1,000 pays for a syringe pump to give pain medication to a patient who cannot swallow tablets, ensuring they are comfortable, and £1336.20 pays for a riser recliner chair for patients to sit out of bed when they feel able to.
