Sue takes on Red Devils skydive

Actress Sue Holderness will take on a daredevil feat tomorrow (Tuesday 23 August 2016) in her first role as an official Thames Hospice Ambassador.

Best known for starring as Marlene Boyce in much-loved British sitcom Only Fools and Horses, the Windsorian will skydive with The Red Devils to raise vital funds and awareness for us.

Sue will take to the skies alongside Thames Hospice fundraisers and staff, on the exhilarating 13,000-foot freefall, at Old Sarum Airfield in Salisbury.

Sue says: “I am always amazed by the extraordinary work done by all involved with Thames Hospice. They provide truly holistic care and it’s a privilege to be able to help in my very small way. Am I frightened? You betcha! But very excited and immensely grateful to all who have sponsored me so far. It’s the most worthwhile cause and we might all need these remarkable people one day.”

The Red Devils are the official parachute display team of The Parachute Regiment and the British Army. They perform at high profile and spectacular events around the country, raising the profile of the British Army. They only have a limited number of charity jump days a year and Thames Hospice is lucky enough to partner with them for these... making it a highlight of the charity’s events programme and a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Alison Evans, Head of Community, Events and Corporate Fundraising, said: “We are really privileged that Sue Holderness is being so brave to raise money for the vital work we do. If you, your family, colleagues, or friends fancy taking the plunge alongside her and making the difference to the care we can provide for local people, then why not sign up and skydive with the best in the business.”

If you would like to sponsor Sue, please visit her fundraising page. We have skydive places available throughout the year - to book, or for more information, click here or call 01753 848946.
