Staff Nurse - Rapid Response
£27,633 per year (pro rata), plus relevant shift enhancements
Flexible hours, 22-37.5 hours per week (to include shifts, weekends and nights)
Location: Windsor (with travel to patients’ homes within 15 mile radius of Windsor)
Our Rapid Response team are currently recruiting for Staff Nurses that are enthusiastic and passionate about providing excellent palliative care in the community. Working in a supportive team environment, you will undertake urgent patient response visits in the community to those facing the end-of-life in their own homes.
While this is a responsive community service, we enable nurses to give the time and care that each patient at the end of their life deserves. Alongside end-of-life care, you will undertake symptom control and personal care, and provide immediate support to the patient and their family upon your arrival.
On occasion, you may be required to undertake patient visits independently, but for the majority of these you will be accompanied by a Health Care Assistant or a Clinical Nurse Specialist, where appropriate. For any independent patient visits, we always ensure that telephone support is available from one of our dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialists.
For this role, we do require post registration nursing experience but if you don’t have experience in a palliative or end-of-life care setting, we can provide you with the relevant training and support.
This is a 24 hour, 7 day a week service so you will be required to work shifts that includes nights. You should also hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own car.
If you would like to have an informal discussion about this role, please contact Sarah Johnston, Team Leader - Single Point of Access on 01753 848925 or Sue Skelton, Head of Community Services on 01753 848948.
This appointment is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check, including Barred lists.
