The Sanctuary is a dedicated indoor and outdoor area built within the grounds of Thames Hospice in Windsor. This unique spiritual area gives visitors somewhere to relax, think or to simply have some peace away from the Inpatient Unit.
The Sanctuary was made possible through part funding from NHS England and the kindness and generosity of individuals remembering us through a gift in their Will.
It offers a tranquil space for patients, their loved ones, staff and volunteers. It is a special area for patients’ individual reflection, to spend time with their families and carers or for religious and civil ceremonies.
The indoor space can be tailored using mood lighting and images and sounds can be played via a wide screen projector. With space for up to 30 guests, The Sanctuary hosts patients’ special occasions, day therapy services as well as our Time to Remember and Light up a Life ceremonies. The setting and magnificent gardens help make these occasions even more memorable.
Dedicated outdoor space
The Sanctuary provides step-free access to stunning landscaped gardens offering an array of seasonal plants and flowers, water features, and sculptures designed to provoke the senses and provide a colourful haven.
