Prince Philip Trust Fund gives £5,000 grant

The Prince Philip Trust Fund has awarded £5,000 to us, to improve patient comfort and help provide emotional support to people facing some of the hardest times of their lives.

In the 40 years since the Trust’s founding in Windsor, it has granted around £2m to over 1,600 projects and causes across the Royal Borough. This grant will fund a mobile lifting chair and bereavement materials to help support our patients and their families.

Ross Wilson, Trustee and Treasurer for the Prince Philip Trust Fund said: "Thames Hospice plays such an important role in our local community, supporting those with life-limiting illnesses and their families at what is an incredibly difficult time of their lives. Their expertise, care and compassion is vital for those who use and need their services, and the Prince Philip Trust Fund is only too pleased to support them in their work.”

Thames Hospice Chief Executive Debbie Raven, who spoke at the Trust’s Fundraising Day in May 2018, said: “The Prince Philip Trust Fund has been a strong supporter of Thames Hospice for many years and we highly value our close association. Their trustees recognise the value the Hospice brings to our community.

“How we cope with grief is determined by how our loved ones spend their last days, and in that respect the Hospice continues to play a very real part in this and is a major comfort to those who need care and compassion at what are incredibly difficult times for families and loved ones.”
