Sunninghill shop relaunch generates over £2,000

Amazing donations, loyal support and a spot of stardust combined to generate more than £2,000 for Thames Hospice at the relaunch of its Sunninghill shop.

Downpours didn’t dampen the mood at Friday’s (15 April) event as EastEnders star, actress Anita Dobson, cut the ribbon to a waiting crowd as the doors opened on the new-look store.
Allison Sharpe, Chairman of Sunninghill Parish Council and Chair of the Ascot Thames Hospice Fundraising Group, cut the celebratory cake as customers filled every spare space in the shop, browsing and enjoying refreshments.
The event generated more than a normal week's takings at the shop, on Sunninghill High Street, and Julie Rowley, Thames Hospice Director of Retail, said: We are overwhelmed by the continued support since we relaunched our stunning shop. The celebrations had customers queuing out of the doors, so we thank you for joining us and for your patience. We hope you found something you loved and your purchases and generous donations mean Thames Hospice can continue to deliver
expert end-of-life and palliative care in your community and at our Hospice.
"Anita was an incredible host and wonderful with staff, volunteers and shoppers, as was Allison. We would like to extend our thanks to both of them for taking the time out of their busy schedules to be part of our special day."
The Thames Hospice Sunninghill shop has been made over to create a fresh shopping experience for our valued customers, regulars and new, in the heart of the local community. The store also includes a new Boutique section, showcasing our most sought-after donations and continues to offer its range of womenswear and men’s fashion, plus books, DVDs, children’s toys and games and a concession of new bags and accessories.
