We are incredibly proud and humbled to announce that we have been recognised with the prestigious, Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce, 'Commitment to the Community' award. Recognising our outstanding contribution and exceptional commitment to our local community.

Upon receiving the award, Saarika Shah, Corporate Partnership Manager said "We are truly honoured to be recognised for the compassionate and dignified care we provide to our patients and their families every day. This award is a testament to the unwavering dedication of our entire team and the incredible support we receive from our community."

Here at Thames Hospice, the community isn't just who we serve – it’s who we are. Our 360 dedicated staff members and over 1,000 passionate volunteers are deeply embedded in our local area, united by a shared commitment to compassion, care, and service. Together their daily efforts directly improve the lives of those facing life-limiting illnesses across East Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire. By working closely with local health services, charities, councils, and families we shape a culture of collaboration and kindness that is at the heart of what we do.

"Our people often tell us that being part of something bigger – making a real difference every day – gives their work greater purpose," added Saarika. "This award celebrates that purpose and the profound impact we collectively make."

Every year, more than 3,000 patients and family members benefit from our services, which are provided free of charge thanks to the generous support of the local community. This support comes through donations, fundraising events, the invaluable work of our volunteers, and sales from our 23 charity shops.

Receiving the 'Commitment to the Community' award reinforces our commitment to our strategic priorities, which include delivering agile and responsive care, ensuring financial sustainability, fostering a supportive culture, and extending our reach to provide equitable access to our services across all communities.
