Thames Hospice is pleased to announce it will receive a share of the Government’s recently confirmed £75 million capital funding for hospices in England.

Chief Executive, Dr Rachael de Caux, said:

“We are delighted to welcome this second tranche of additional funding for adult and children’s hospice charities in England, first announced before Christmas. This investment will enable us to enhance our facilities for the benefit of our patients and their families and strengthen our digital infrastructure - ultimately giving more time back to our clinical teams to deliver direct care.

“We know this funding will come as a huge relief to many of our fellow hospices across the country, and we are grateful to Hospice UK for their tireless work in securing this one-off support from the Government.

“We also share the Government’s ambition to expand care into the community. At Thames Hospice, our outstanding Hospice at Home team is already helping to realise this vision, with over 80% of our care delivered in people’s own homes. We look forward to continuing to work collaboratively with the Government and Hospice UK to build a sustainable and resilient hospice sector - one that can meet the growing and evolving needs of those we serve, ensuring everyone receives expert, compassionate care in their preferred place of care.”
