On Monday 12 April 2021 Thames Hospice reopened all 23 of its stores to eager customers. All of the Hospices shops have been closed since Christmas 2020 in accordance with the UK Governments' coronavirus restrictions, resulting in a loss of vital income.
The charity was joined by local dignitaries and special guests at their Maidenhead, Windsor and Wokingham stores to celebrate the reopening and welcome back returning customers.
Julie Rowley, Director of Retail at Thames Hospice, said: "The Hospice's income from its retail operations has been hugely affected by the coronavirus pandemic, so we were thrilled to be able to open our doors once again on Monday. Thank you so much to our special local guests for joining us in some of our shops.
"It was fantastic to be back open for business raising vital funds for the Hospice, and we were delighted to welcome back our wonderful loyal customers, as well as staff and volunteers.
We had a very successful first day of trading and look forward to welcoming back even more customers in the days to come."
The Thames Hospice shops are selling a fantastic range of preloved clothing, accessories, homeware and bric-a-brac for the spring season, as well as a selection of new goods and gifts.
All of the charity's stores will also be accepting donations between the hours of 10am-4pm Monday to Saturday, and 11am-3pm on Sundays.
