The team at SEC Recruitment continue to dress up, dish up and step out to raise funds for Thames Hospice, after smashing their initial fundraising target just months into our Charity of the Year partnership.

In March 2017, the London-based company - one of Europes leading providers of talent acquisition services for Contract Research Organisations (CROs), Pharmaceutical and Life Science businesses voted for Thames Hospice to be its Charity of the Year. Nominated by one of their employees after he experienced our services, the team set themselves the new challenge of raising 4.5k by the end of 2017 - enough to fund a specialist, pressure-relieving mattress to ensure patients have the most comfortable stay on our Inpatient Unit.

The team has managed to achieve so much in such a short space of time by introducing an ever-exciting series of fundraising initiatives, organised by the company's Social Committee. They have hosted office bake-offs, a Wacky Wig Day, a Grand National Sweepstake and a Casino Night, with employees Chris and Russell going to even greater lengths for us by taking on the Great North Run and Berlin Marathon respectively. As well as this, every year SEC Recruitment runs an Employee Engagement Survey in which its Chief Executive Stuart Britton donates £5 for every employee who fills in the form. This is based on a 100% completion rate and the target was achieved.

Chris Howard, Head of Marketing at SEC Recruitment, said: "This is SEC's first Charity of the Year initiative and I have to admit that I've been personally delighted with the way all of the team at SEC has responded to it. We have a charity fundraising team who drive the activities, nearly all of the staff get involved in different ways and being a competitive business, its brilliant to know that we've beaten the original estimate of what we wanted to raise at the beginning of the year.

"For us this isn't about a CSR initiative, it's a real-life example of a work family coming together for a cause that is close to our hearts, given the personal nature of the work Thames Hospice did for the family of one of our staff."

While they have been busy fundraising, the team has also been raising awareness of Thames Hospice on their website and via social media. It is without a doubt that this, combined with so many fundraising activities, has paved the way for a successful charity partnership.

Mary Ann Leader, Corporate Fundraiser at Thames Hospice, said: "We couldn't be more proud of everyone at SEC Recruitment for their simply incredible support of Thames Hospice. Since the partnership began, they have been a joy to work with and we very much hope that we can build on this wonderful partnership going forward."

The team will continue to support Thames Hospice for 2017, with a Christmas Jumper Day lined up, and we ho-ho-hope its a massive success for them!
