Thames Hospice is honoured to announce the appointment of Lieutenant General Philip Jones CB CBE DL, Constable and Governor of Windsor Castle, as an Ambassador for the charity.

The announcement was made at a special event held in the beautiful Moat Garden at Windsor Castle, hosted by Lieutenant General Jones. The occasion brought together dedicated supporters, Hospice colleagues, and volunteers to celebrate this new partnership and to thank the Hospice’s community for their continued support.

In his new role, Lieutenant General Jones will champion the work of Thames Hospice, helping to raise awareness of its specialist care and support for people facing life-limiting illnesses across Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire. His appointment will further strengthen the Hospice’s links to the local community and encourage wider engagement with its mission.

Lieutenant General Jones said:

“It is an honour to become an Ambassador for Thames Hospice. The compassion, dedication, and professionalism of the Hospice team is inspirational and the impact they have is extraordinary. I am committed to supporting their brilliant and vital work in any way I can, and I very much look forward to working with them.”

As Governor of Windsor Castle, Lieutenant General Jones brings significant experience in public service and community leadership. As Ambassador, he will support Thames Hospice through a variety of activities, including attending key events, hosting an annual fundraiser, and engaging his personal and professional networks to help extend the Hospice’s reach.

Rachael de Caux, Chief Executive of Thames Hospice, added:

“We are honoured to welcome Lieutenant General Jones as an Ambassador. His unwavering commitment to public service and his deep ties to our community make him an outstanding advocate for our work. We are excited about the opportunities this partnership will bring and look forward to making a lasting difference together.”
