MCKS Charitable Foundation UK has donated an incredible £50,000 towards the new Thames Hospice currently under construction by Bray Lake.

The generous donation will fund two dedicated rooms for complementary therapy and other soothing treatments in the Day Therapy Suite (Paul Bevan Centre), offering therapeutic relaxation to both patients and loved ones.

Ruth Morrissy, Chair of MCKS Charitable Foundation UK and Pranic Healing Practitioner, says: "The aim of MCKS Charitable Foundation UK is to help alleviate suffering by empowering and helping people to take control of their lives. Through no fault of their own sometimes people cannot or do not know how to help themselves and our donations are given to carefully selected charities whose aim is also to help those less fortunate.

"We look to enhance any donation by forging long term relationships with the charities donated and Thames Hospice is a charity that we feel privileged to partner.

"For over 30 years they have been providing help for those with life-limiting conditions and their families, and we at MCKS, with our donation, are delighted that we have been able to provide extra support for Thames Hospice's new hospice."

MCKS have also been supporting the charity by offering free pranic healing taster sessions to all staff and volunteers at the current Hospice in Windsor each month.

Sarah Bissell, Thames Hospice Director of Fundraising and Marketing, says: "I can't really thank MCKS enough for this amazing donation, they are great friends to Thames Hospice. We know currently that we have 10 families every day that cannot get the care they need from Thames Hospice. This donation for our new hospice will go towards ensuring we can help a further 2,500 families every year in our hospice and out in the community."

If you have been inspired by MCKS and would like to discuss how you can support the future of local hospice care, please email Sarah Bissell or call 01753 842121.
