Under glorious sunny skies, over 130 enthusiastic swimmers took the plunge last Sunday, June 22nd, for Thames Hospice's annual Open Water Swim Challenge, raising over £33,000 to support vital hospice care.

The event saw participants of all abilities brave the open water, with 130 swimmers making a splash, including 10 dedicated Thames Hospice staff members. The atmosphere was electric, with cheers from spectators encouraging every stroke.

Among those making waves was Amber, who swam in memory of her aunt, Alix Burnage. "I swam 5k for my aunt, Alix, who was an incredible swimming teacher," Amber shared. "I know she'd be proud of me for taking on this challenge and incredibly grateful I'm raising money in her name for the Hospice."

After reaching the finish line, swimmers collected their well-deserved rewards and enjoyed refreshments _ from the charity's Café by the Lake.

"The dedication and spirit of every swimmer were truly inspiring," said Emma Andrews, Events Fundraiser. "Their incredible efforts, and the generous support of our community, have made this year's Open Water Swim an outstanding success. Every pound raised will help us continue to provide essential care to those who need it most."

Thames Hospice extends a massive thank you to all staff, volunteers, and sponsors Blue Jelly. Special thanks also go to Bray Lake Watersports for their invaluable support in delivering a brilliant and safe event on the day.
