Philip Courtenay-Luck, a successful entrepreneur in the confectionary industry, has been a supporter of Thames Hospice for more than 36 years, ever since the charity first opened in 1987. He Chairs the Hospice’s very successful Denham Fundraising Group and, under his stewardship, they have raised in excess of £800,000. Philip’s wife Irene also volunteers her time each week to support our patients on the Inpatient Unit.
This Sunday 18 June 2023, avid cyclist Philip will take on his 40th London to Brighton Cycle Ride. Philip has raised more than £200,000 over the years from the ride which has been split between both the British Heart Foundation and Thames Hospice.
Claire Redrup, Head of Community and Events at Thames Hospice, said: “Everyone at the Hospice would like to wish Philip the very best of luck as he takes on his iconic challenge for the 40th consecutive time, and offer our huge thanks for his unwavering long-term support of the charity.”
Philip has impressively managed to cycle up the notorious Ditchling Beacon on every occasion and quotes that ‘he is confident of achieving this feat on his 40th ride this Sunday’.
