Wear your brightest clothes on Friday 11 October 2019 to support the new hospice. Thames Hospice is giving a big shout out to all schools and colleges across Berkshire to host a non-uniform day on 11 October 2019 to raise funds towards the new £22 million community hospice currently being built by Bray Lake. Asking every child who participates to bring just £1 will make a massive difference.

Several local schools and colleges have already signed up to the Berkshire-wide fundraising event, including Pioneer Education Trust, Furze Platt School, BCA College, Clewer Green CE First School and Homer First School based in Windsor.

Martin Tinsley, Headteacher at Clewer Green First School, said: "We are delighted to be supporting Thames Hospice non-uniform day. The Hospice has always been a charity close to the heart of Clewer Green CE Aided First School due not only to the tremendous work that they do but also because they are our neighbours. We truly hope they raise the money that they need for the new hospice and the extra beds that this will create for them to be able to provide palliative care for more patients coming towards the end of their illnesses."

Mrs Sharma and Mrs Brand, Co-Headteachers at Homer First School, said: "Homer children and staff have been pleased to support Thames Hospice over many years and have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the various activities to raise funds. We are thrilled to continue to raise money for the wonderful new hospice and we appreciate our parents' support with such a local worthy cause."

Alison Evans, Head of Community and Events at Thames Hospice, said: "We are thrilled by the response to our non-uniform day fundraiser so far and would love every school in Berkshire to join in and support us on 11 October 2019. Every donation will help us to raise the remaining £3 million to complete our new hospice so we can continue providing vital care and support to the community we are proud to serve."
