Record numbers suited up for our 10th anniversary Santa Dash at Swinley Forest, Bracknell, on Sunday 26 November.
The annual 5k or 10k fun run, once again generously supported by the Shanly Foundation, was more popular than ever attracting almost 800 supporters. Dashers were dressed in Santa suits, reindeer antlers, flashing noses and even their own festive creations with the fundraising total at a sleigh-mazing 25k and counting.
Alison Evans, Head of Community and Events Fundraising, said: "The atmosphere was buzzing and with so many people dashing around, the sea of Santas was almost never-ending. Thank you to everyone who signed up for this special 10th anniversary dash, the support we've been shown has been truly amazing and we ho-ho-hope we've got you all in the festive mood."
Teams from Windsor-based solicitors, Charsley Harrison, and Housing Solutions, in Maidenhead took part and each Santa to cross the finish line received a medal and refreshments, courtesy of Mars. The charity would like to thank its incredible volunteers from the Thames Valley Police, members of the Thames Valley Police Cadets and the Windsor Rotary Club. The support of the community means that more of the funds raised can be used to support local people with life-limiting illnesses.
The Santa Dash team would like to remind supporters that there is still time to raise sponsorship and all the money raised will help to provide local people with quality of life, until the end of life, throughout Christmas and beyond.
