Exciting new festival 'LakeFest' marks move to new hospice

PLEASE NOTE: THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL 5 SEPTEMBER 2020

Thames Hospice is delighted to announce the launch of a brand new, exciting festival for the whole family. Taking place right next to the new hospice by Bray Lake, LakeFest will offer live music, entertainment, an array of delicious food, drink and much more on 5 September 2020 from 12pm to 6pm.

The charity’s annual Sunflower Walk will also take place for the first time around the Hospice’s new home on 6 June 2020 at 10am. This much-loved in-memory walk is open to all ages and abilities, with a choice of 2.5k, 4k or 10k routes all starting and finishing at Bray lake.

Commenting on today’s announcement, Alison Evans, Head of Events and Community Fundraising said: “We can’t wait to move into our new hospice this summer! Both events will offer walkers and festival revellers the exciting opportunity to have a closer glimpse of the new hospice ahead of its opening in the summer.

“Make a day of it and sign up to both the Sunflower Walk and LakeFest, remembering loved ones and celebrating living life to the full with your friends, family, colleagues and neighbours. Every penny raised will allow us to care for even more local families for generations to come.”

There will be live music from local bands and DJs covering music from across the decades, before special headline performances from the world’s number one Ed Sheeran tribute act – The Ed Sheeran Experience - and talented Ariana Grande tribute act, Amy G.

Thames Hospice is also thrilled to present ‘Thames Got Talent’, inviting children and young adults to sing, dance or perform on stage at LakeFest in front of a judging panel from the Pauline Quirke Academy, the winners will be announced at LakeFest! For further details on how to enter the talent contest, please email us.

There really is something for everyone at LakeFest – a children’s area with entertainment and activities, yoga sessions and bhangra dancing, to a vast choice of food and drinks from local suppliers, including Rebellion Brewery and Gilbey’s gin and champagne, to tantalize taste buds.
