Jonathan Jones (Chair)
Jonathan joined the Thames Hospice Board in 2011 and became Chair in 2018. He retired from Heatherwood & Wexham Park NHS Hospitals FT in 2012, after 22 years as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon. Jonathan was Medical Director of the Trust for more than four years, during which time he developed a wide knowledge of the local health community, together with specific experience in infection control, patient safety and governance. He was an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of England from 2003 to 2015.
Jonathan and his wife Hilary have three children and, as of 2016, three grandchildren. Retirement has allowed Jonathan to spend more time with his enlarging family, travel the world, enjoy the variety of London theatre, follow Wasps rugby, play tennis and walk Burnham Beeches with their flatcoat retriever. Jonathan has always had a passion for lepidoptera (insects including butterflies and moths) and volunteers for Butterfly Conservation; regularly counting and photographing butterflies in Bucks during the summer.
