Meet Jasmine
Jasmine is one of the wonderful volunteers at our Woodley store, who has a love of charity shops and bargains!
Her journey into volunteering began as Jasmine was always shopping in the Woodley store. “I brought a long pink summers dress from the Woodley store and wore it to the Woodley Carnival in the summer where I was spotted by the Thames Hospice volunteers that sold me the dress!” she explains.
Alongside volunteering, Jasmine runs Thrifty and Fabulous, a sustainable fashion platform dedicated to encouraging second-hand shopping. Through this, she shares tips and tricks on buying preloved clothing, donating or reselling clothes, taking on sewing projects, and raising awareness about overconsumption. Her current goal is clear: to make a personal difference in reducing textile waste within her community.
Her quote for 2026 is: “Be the girl that just went for it.” Jasmine adds: “Thames Hospice does such amazing work I felt like it was my time to show my support more in the best way I knew how, by working in a charity shop.”
“The community at Thames Hospice is something I admire, always helpful, friendly and something I am grateful to be a part of.”
Outside of volunteering, Jasmine is also currently holding the position of 1st runner-up for Miss Great Britain Berkshire 2025 and a finalist for 2026.
Our services are free of charge to all those in our community who need vital hospice care but this is only made possible through the charitable support and generosity of our amazing community. We need to raise £39,000 each day to fund our services 365 days a year to the people who need us most.
We’ve never needed you, our wonderful supporters, more than we need you today. Please donate what you can to help keep hospice care available for those in desperate need.
