Catherine’s story
"It's a place where I can combine my love of visual merchandising with my organisational skills. I take pride in making sure everything is in its place and help to ensure the store looks as good as it can be."

Catherine volunteers because she believes in giving back. "Volunteering gives me that feel-good factor," she says. "I wanted to do something for a good cause and make a difference in my community." For her, it’s more than just spending time—it’s about contributing to something bigger than herself.
She volunteers at the Maidenhead Homestore and is deeply involved in the store’s operations. "I love the store," Catherine shares. I take pride in making sure everything is in its place and help to ensure the store looks as good as it can be."
Her passion for recycling also plays a big role in her volunteer work. "Recycling is something I’m really passionate about," she explains. "It’s a simple way to help the environment and I love discovering things that might be considered unwanted and giving them a new life."
Catherine’s life experience has also helped her connect with others. "I’ve learned how important it is to listen to people," she says. "When you take the time to really hear someone, it can make a huge difference, even with the briefest of conversations when you are serving someone at the till.”
For Catherine, volunteering isn’t just about giving her time; it’s about using her skills to create a positive impact and connecting with others in a meaningful way. "It’s a great way to be part of something that matters," she says.
