Bill Bryson to speak at Thames Hospice carol service
Thames Hospice will return to Eton College this Christmas for a special evening of festive readings and carols on Friday 14 December at 7.30pm. The event will be hosted by Graham Barker, High Sheriff of the Royal County of Berkshire.
Author Bill Bryson OBE will be a guest speaker at the charity’s prestigious fundraising service in Eton College Chapel. The Tamesis Chamber Choir will lend its unique musical accompaniment to the night, alongside international opera star Sir Thomas Allen OBE and Soprano Rebecca van den Berg.
Alison Evans, Head of Community and Events Fundraising at Thames Hospice, said: “We can’t wait to return to the beautiful Eton College Chapel this year for our Christmas service. My special thanks to Graham Barker for his unwavering time and support in organising this event with us and of course to our other esteemed guests. Tickets cost £30 per person and include a glass of bubbly and canapés. All funds raised through ticket sales will help Thames Hospice to provide local people with quality of life, until the end of life, throughout Christmas and beyond.
