Ascot therapy services to relocate to Windsor
All Thames Hospice therapy services currently provided at Paul Bevan House, on the Heatherwood Hospital site in Ascot, will move to our Windsor site with effect from January 2017. This follows Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust’s announcement in April 2016 of their redevelopment plans for Heatherwood Hospital.
Jacquie Batchford, our Director of Patient & Family Services, said: “We are committed to providing the highest quality palliative care services to our local community and look forward to welcoming our patients and their carers to our facility in Windsor.”
We also recently announced we have secured the option to purchase land to build a new
28-bed, purpose-built, hospice by Bray Lake in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead - subject to planning permission.
Commenting on the expansion plans, Debbie Raven, our Chief Executive, said: “These are very exciting times for Thames Hospice. We have seen demand for all of our services increase year-on-year and we are at a point where we need to expand to meet the needs of our local community.
"A new purpose-built hospice will enable us to support more local people, through providing additional inpatient, outpatient and community service; building on the expert care delivered at our current facility in Windsor for almost 30 years.”
Two Public Meetings will be held to share our expansion plans and answer any questions:
26 October 2016
Berks, SL4 3RW
27 October 2016
