A year of fun, flair and nostalgia...
My name is Isobel Katana and I have been working for Thames Hospice in various retail roles for the past two years. I’m currently the Retail Manager for Vintage Boutique, in Marlow.
Having experienced first-hand the expert care Thames Hospice provided for my father, I wanted to help give something back. When a position in retail was advertised, I saw a chance which enabled me to spend time with my family as well as helping the Hospice and had to apply.
As Vintage Boutique is the newest Thames Hospice shop, the past year has been a very exciting time and we've really got involved with the local community. We participated in a wedding fair at the Compleat Angler in Marlow, showcasing the wonderful vintage wedding dresses and accessories donated to us.
Then, in June, we were gifted a fantastic donation of more than 100 hats by established local hat-maker Margaret Partington. The hats came at such a great time, with the Marlow Regatta and Ascot Races around the corner, and the word spread so quickly that by July we had sold all the hats across three of our shops.
Our pretty Marlow shop has a lovely mix of vintage and modern ladies clothing; along with pretty tea sets, shoes, bags and accessories. Vintage Boutique also houses upcycled furniture that's been transformed at our Home Studio, located in our newly revamped Thames Hospice Home furniture and homeware store in Dedworth. Vintage Boutique brings a fun and nostalgic flair to the high street, where people can mix different styles and play with fashion.
Vintage Boutique will be celebrating its first anniversary in October and we hope to celebrate in style... more details coming soon!
